Key highlights

• Plain language was a hot topic at OSFI, with a lack of understanding what it meant. There was a great deal of resistance among subject-matter experts in the organization as they mistakenly believed “plain language” meant “dumbed-down”.
• I developed this presentation to help educate my colleagues about what plain language was and wasn’t.
• I presented this version a handful of times, and shorter versions frequently to smaller groups.
